PHSC continues to have a leading cross country program. Jacki Wachtel began the PHSC cross country program in 2005. She has coached many of her runners to achieve All-American Honors. PHSC competed in the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Cross Country Championships, held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee on October 29. PHSC runner and Springstead High alumni Kylie Kanaar placed fourth against 60 runners. Kylie along with nine of her teammates helped claim the Bobcats fifth state championship. “I am so proud of them for winning the Region 8 meet. We were not favored to win but the team really came together and ran the entire race. We won in the last .1 of the race. It was exciting! For nationals, we will aim for another top 10 finish,” said PHSC Cross Country Coach Jacki Wachtel.
