The Florida Chapter of the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has endorsed Rep. Blaise Ingoglia (R-Spring Hill) to become a Florida State Senator for District 10. Ingoglia currently serves as State Representative for Florida House District 35, which includes portions of Hernando County. He will be termed out in 2022.
The IAFF made the endorsement because of Ingoglia’s demonstrated support of issues important to firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and their families, said Florida Professional Firefighters District 10 Vice President, Derrick Ryan.
“Our wages, benefits, working conditions, health and safety, and pensions are all in the hands of elected officials, and Rep. Blaise Ingoglia has been a longtime champion of these issues,” Ryan said in announcing the endorsement.
In response, Ingoglia said he will continue to advocate for firefighters, EMTs, and their families.
“Our campaign is about the people, especially the men and women who have made the protection of life and property their life’s work,” said Ingoglia.
The State Senate District 10 seat encompasses Hernando and Citrus Counties and portions of Pasco County.
Ingoglia officially announced his candidacy for that post on July 20.
