The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) K-9 unit grew by two new deputies earlier this month when Deputies C. Reid and S. Derryberry joined the team.

Formerly a K-9 handler with the Brooksville Police Department, Derryberry will be the new handler for K-9 Meck. The pair will complete State Standardized testing shortly.

Reid will be the new handler for K-9 Chase. They attend the full K-9 school in January.
