This year is the eighth year MLK Brooksville Incorporated is hosting the Martin Luther King Day parade in the city of Brooksville. During the city council Meeting on Monday, Jan. 3, two members of MLK Brooksville Incorporated, Leechele Booker and Billy Healis, asked the City Council to waive fees for a parade permit and street closure. The Council graciously decided to waive the full amount of $935.12.
The parade will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 10:00 AM. The lineup for those participating in the parade begins at 8:30 AM at the Hernando County School District Office (919 North Broad Street). Parade participants will be judged according to their Martin Luther King-themed decorations and spirit.
