The 7-eleven at the intersection of Commercial way and Berkeley Manor Blvd. was severely damaged by the storm hitting the area in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022. The same intersection was the location of a tragic car accident, killing a mother and her infant son on Monday.
The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Watch for Hernando County through Sunday evening, although the storm has, for the most part, left the area, moving to the northeast.
