“Hugs and Kisses to Small Local Businesses” is the theme of February’s HomeTown Market of Brooksville, set to take place on February 19th from 10 am until 5 pm, and February 20th from 1 pm until 5 pm, at Christ Lutheran Church at 475 North Ave West, Brooksville.

Jessica Longoria shares that the HomeTown Market celebrates all things local; Local businesses, artists, crafters, makers, and bakers. There will be pony rides & a petting zoo, inflatable bounce houses, food trucks and snackie-type vendors. Entry and parking are both free.

And aside from a hometown-helping of family fun, this popular market is a place for local artists to show and sell their wares. A featured exhibitor, Pinetop Custom Creations, offers home decor, gifts, party/holiday needs, shirts, decals and more. Specialty Pinetop creations include handmade signs, decorative tissue dispensers, and other homespun treasures.

“I love having a monthly market where my customers always know they can find my booth,” said artist Judy Dutka, owner of Pinetop Custom Creations. “Whether they are looking for new home decor or a gift for a friend, I’ve got a nice selection for them. Jessica does a great job assembling a variety of vendors, food trucks and entertainment for the kiddos. It’s a wonderful, family oriented atmosphere that I look forward to every month!”

Horticultural art will be up for offer through Jessica’s Green Den, a new Greenhouse business based in Brooksville that offers decoratively potted plants of all varieties. “I live locally in Brooksville and want to share with my community the love for plants. I am a new small business that wants to offer an opportunity to pot your first plant. Or just pot one, because small fairy plants and succulents and cactus are available, and you choose a pot, also different toppings available, also other plants and plant like accessories available for purchase,” explained owner Jessica Romano. Romano’s chief assistant is her son Zachary Guhl, a Hernando High School 10th grader who has inherited his mom’s love of all things green.

Other Hometown Market exhibits include: Girl Scout Cookies, offers samples of their delicious cookies, Kim’s Mani Mania, offers decorative nail art, and Debbie Does Soap offers designer, tropical and highly colorful soaps with names like Beach Day, Pink Sugar, Mocha Scrub, and Goodnight Sweetheart. She also has an exclusive line of shampoo and conditioner bars and even a miniature bathtub brimming with bath beads. Longoria Acre, an agriculture company known in particular for its artistically colorful eggs, Grandma’s Kidz Wear, offers a colorful array of children’s clothes, with specialties that include pastel floral dresses and aprons, along with doll clothes.

Through her Hugs and Kisses to Local Businesses event, Jessica Longoria hopes to bring warmth and useful, beautiful arts and crafts to the community. “February is coming!” she enthused. “We are so excited to see what awesome things our vendors will have. It’s felt like Christmas since October’s pumpkins – we can’t wait to see the new creations!”
