A free hands-only CPR training is being offered on March 19th, courtesy of the Hernando County Fire Department’s Fire Corps. The training will take place at the Airport Flea Market from 8 am up until closing. Each trainee will be able to practice CPR on manikins to simulate what it feels like to perform compressions on a person’s chest. The training will only take about 90 seconds!
The instructor will be Vince Montefusco, who has been an emergency medical responder (EMR) since 1974. Currently, he is the volunteer training officer of the Hernando County Fire Department’s Fire Corps. The Fire Corps members are community volunteers that support fire personnel at fires by providing rehabilitative services. They also serve the community by setting up first aid stand-bys at community events.
The Fire Corps members meet once a month at one of Hernando County’s fire stations where Vince Montefusco provides short booster training on various medical topics. Sometimes there are other professionals who provide the training.
Be sure to stop in at the Airport Flea Market for your CPR training on the 19th! A quicker response from the public in an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
