Commissioners unanimously approved a 172-unit townhouse complex to be developed just north of the Salishan retirement village, and northwest of the Silverthorn subdivision. At the March 8, 2022 meeting, no one came to oppose the proposed zoning change which will facilitate the development. Formerly Agricultural-Residential (AR), the new zoning designation will be Planned Development Project (PDP).
The single entrance will be placed northwest of the entrance to the Silverthorn subdivision, so as not to interfere with traffic exiting and entering. Within the development, a series of connecting roadways will be constructed.
Natural buffers will be placed at the northwest border and southeast border, where the development abuts other residential zones, including Salishan. A large setback at the west side is being considered for extra drainage retention.
