The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is working to identify the skeletal remains found in a vacant lot in Brooksville last week.
According to the HCSO, just before 5 p.m. on April 14, deputies responded to a tip that human skeletal remains had been found in a vacant wooded lot on Winter Street, near Horn Avenue in Brooksville.
The remains appeared to have been located there for an extended period of time, the HCSO said.
Circumstances surrounding the find are currently under investigation.
The HCSO did not comment further.
