The trial for three men accused of carrying out a group of ten burglaries in Hernando County between 2015 and 2017 is now slated to take place in July. In 2017 the pair allegedly struck at Dan-Lo Jewelers on Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill where they allegedly made off with more than $1 million in jewelry and cash.
In December 2019, Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis announced that the trio, Michael Clarence Ornelas, William Anthony Granims, and Matthew Petrucelli were all charged with the Hernando County burglaries.
All three were slated to appear on the charges in Hernando County Criminal Court on May 31, but during a May 26 court appearance, the cases were continued again.
Now, Ornelas and Petrucelli are slated to appear before Judge Daniel Merritt for a pre-trial hearing on July 7. Their jury trial is scheduled for July 11 at 8:30 a.m.
According to court records, Granims is slated to appear before Judge Merritt on July 21.
A source who has asked to remain anonymous said Granims has agreed to plead guilty to the charges against him and to testify against the other two in exchange for a plea deal.
All the cases remain pending.
