A teenager is suspected in connection with a series of burglaries in the Ridge Manor area as well as other crimes in three nearby counties.’
According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), detectives began investigating a series of burglaries in the area of McKethan Road and Treiman Boulevard in May.
Trenton Taylor, 17, was subsequently identified as a suspect in those incidents.
Further investigation revealed that Taylor was also accused of being involved in other crimes that were committed elsewhere in Hernando County as well as in Sumter, Citrus, and Pasco counties.
With the help of investigators from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Taylor was apprehended in Pasco County by a K-9 unit after a foot chase.
Taylor was initially arrested on eight active juvenile pickup orders from Hernando County, but Hernando County detectives are continuing to work with the PCSO, the Dade City Police Department, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) to close active cases connected to him.
As the investigation continues, additional charges are pending against Taylor including multiple counts of burglary to a structure, burglary to a conveyance, burglary to a dwelling, burglary to an occupied dwelling, grand theft auto, and dealing in stolen property.
