Hernando County and specifically Brooksville has ranked in the top 20 among Florida locations for retirees to settle. The ranking was announced last month by Stacker Newswire using data obtained by Niche, a Pennsylvania-based company that ranks counties nationwide based on a variety of community and economic actors.
According to Stacker, seniors consider specific factors, including cost of living, government services, health care facilities, crime rate, overall climate, outdoor recreational activities, and entertainment opportunities. Niche data ranked Hernando County No. 13 among the best places for retirees to live in Florida.
Overall, the County earned an A+ grade as a residential destination for retirees. It was graded B when it comes to cost of living, A for weather and A- for outdoor activities.
North Brooksville, South Brooksville, and Brooksville respectively ranked at top places to live the Niche data said.
