The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is seeking the public’s help locating those who may be conducting dog fighting operations since the HCSO’s Animal Enforcement Unit has seen a marked increase in the number of dumped and abandoned dogs found along U.S. 301 near Ridge Manor. The animals’ injuries are consistent with wounds found on dogs used for fighting.
Those who participate in dog fighting could face third-degree felony charges.
