A toddler was fatally injured after he entered the path of a sedan and was struck by the vehicle.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Spokesman Sgt. Steve Gaskins, just after 8 a.m on Oct. 16, a 55-year-old Spring Hill man was driving a Lincoln Town car towing a trailer southbound along US 41 in Brooksville. Meanwhile, a 3-year-old Brooksville boy was walking with a parent westbound on Evening Star Avenue.
At the intersection, the toddler entered the path of the car and was struck and killed. The car came to a controlled stop immediately after the incident.
The boy was taken to an area hospital where he later died of the injuries he sustained in the collision.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
