Eagles shutout Leopards in their first boys soccer match of the season

The Springstead Eagles shutout Hernando High 8-0 on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, to kick off their season.  

The Eagles fell to Sunlake, Pasco County’s top-ranked team, 4-1 on Nov. 8.  Both teams scored once in the first half, but Sunlake put away three in the second half.

The Eagles then crushed the Weeki Wachee Hornets 9-1 on Nov. 14.

Up next for the Eagles:

Friday, Nov. 18 vs Lecanto at Home at 7:30 pm.

Monday, Nov. 28 at Citrus High School at 7:30 pm.

Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Crystal River High School at 7:30 pm.

Friday, Dec. 2 at Nature Coast High School at 7:30 pm.

Hernando High has yet to win their first game, also losing to Bishop McLaughlin 6-0 and Central 1-10.  This week they travel to Dade City to take on the Pasco Pirates on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and then to Weeki Wachee to play the Hornets on Nov. 18.

Weeki Wachee is currently 1-1 with the 9-1 loss to Springstead and a 1-0 win over Crystal River.  They play South Sumter on Wednesday 11/16 and Hernando on Friday 11/18.

Central is also 1-1 with the 10-1 win over Hernando and an 8-0 loss to Citrus. On Friday, Nov. 18, they play Nature Coast (1-1) at the Shark Tank.  NCT has a 2-1 loss to Citrus and 3-0 win over Lecanto.
