Christmas came early for the students, teachers and parents of Chocachatti Elementary. Friday, December 9th, Santa visited the school, people could do some early Christmas shopping and enjoy performances by the students.
On sale were products made by the students in their Micro Society classes. Micro Society is a program in which students can have real-life experience participating in actual businesses and careers. These are as varied as agriculture, culinary arts and performing arts.
Some of the products (all made by the students) that were for sale at the Winter Wonderland were farm-fresh salsa, handmade jewelry, pottery and woven baskets.
The performances included Broadway Babies (a song and dance show), Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, and Keyboard Kids, showcasing the talent of first graders playing songs on the keyboard.
All the profits from the sale of the items and the $2.00 admission price for the performances went towards the Micro Society program.
