A man is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center after he admitted firing shots into another man’s car because he was unhappy with the quality of the marijuana that man had sold him.

According to Denise Moloney, public relations manager for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), just after 6:30 p.m., on Dec.10, deputies responded to a call of shots fired near the Spring Haven Apartments, 220 Spring Haven Loop in Spring Hill.

At the scene, they met with a man who told them that his vehicle had been hit by gunfire just as he entered the apartment complex from Mariner Boulevard. Stray rounds struck two other unoccupied vehicles during the shooting.

The man also described two men who were standing on the sidewalk at the time of the incident. While canvassing the area, deputies saw a man who fit the description of one suspect exit the apartment at 306 Glen Ivy Terrace.

They subsequently detained the man along with two other males who were inside the apartment and took them to the HCSO to be interviewed.
During his interview, Isiah Jaheem Geigel, 19, admitted to shooting up the car.

Geigel told detectives that he had purchased some marijuana from the victim and had confronted him earlier that day because he was displeased with the quality of the product. He added that he felt that the victim had “disrespected him” in his handling of the transaction.

Geigel then decided to shoot him. “Geigel told detectives he had no intentions of harming the victim; he just wanted to scare him,” Moloney said.
Geigel then told detectives where he had hidden the firearm after the incident occurred.

Acting on a warrant, detectives searched the apartment at 306 Glen Ivy Terrace and found the firearm just where Giegel said it would be located.
Giegel was arrested and charged with three counts of shooting into a vehicle and aggravated assault. He remains at the Hernando County Detention Center.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident continues.
