A Spring Hill man faces multiple charges after security videos showed him trying to break into a car wash in Spring Hill.
Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputy Public Information Office (PIO) Michael Terry said that surveillance video recorded at 2 a.m. on Jan. 5 showed a man arriving at the Mr. Car Wash, 4330 Commercial Way in Spring Hill. The man exited his vehicle and attempted to forcibly remove a surveillance camera from its post near the business.
The video recording also showed the man using a broom to try to pry open a door belonging to the business and damaging a vending machine nearby. Finally, the video showed that the man damaged the arm of the front gate before he left the premises.
Detectives used the surveillance video to identify 56-year-old Brian Aaron Dow Sr. of Sealawn Drive in Spring Hill.
When they visited him at his residence, Dow told investigators that he had been in the area at the time of the attempted burglary but did not recall causing any damage there.
Detectives arrested Dow and charged him with commercial burglary and criminal mischief.
He was booked into the Hernando County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of bond.
