Restoring hope and freedom is the mission of the Great Life Church VOICES ministry, a new ministry of Great Life Church that is “committed to shining a light on the voices of the innocent.”

VOICES stands for Victims Of Injustice Crying out Every Second. It is the mission of VOICES to build the first safe home for human trafficking victims in Hernando County. And to that end, VOICES hosted its second 5K Walk/Run Saturday, Jan. 28, at Great Life Church. All proceeds go towards their planned home for survivors of human trafficking and young mothers. Aside from the 5K, guests were treated to a vendors fair, food trucks, and programs, plus speeches that addressed the mission and plans for VOICES and fun activities for the kids.

The Great Life VOICES team prepared a special statement for The Hernando Sun, provided by Skylar Masonet that detailed the success of this significant event. “VOICES is a ministry of Great Life Church that stands for Victims of Injustice Crying Out Every Second. This ministry was created with the vision to create community awareness and to build an establishment for trafficked victims, women escaping abuse, and young mothers,” the statement explained. “This home will serve the purpose of being a safe haven, ministering, and restoring hope to broken souls.”

The statement informs, “This was a family run/walk created specifically to raise funds to build a home for trafficked victims. People of every age participated, and it was a joy to see so many parents include their children in this cause. We also held a vendor fair, where over 30 sponsors/vendors were present representing their local businesses.”

The VOICES 5K also offered a crucial informational component. “Most importantly, we were able to share about the reality of human trafficking in our own state and have the opportunity to pray with everyone in attendance.”

The VOICES 5K marked another critical stepping stone toward realizing the ministry’s mission. “The VOICES 5K event has brought us one step closer to fulfilling the vision God gave us to help trafficked women/girls find the restoration they need,” the VOICES team said. “We also have more outreaches and fundraising events coming up throughout 2023. If people would like to donate towards the vision and future home or learn more, they can visit VoicesFL.com or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for updates.” Great Life Church is located at 14494 Cortez Blvd, Spring Hill.
