Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed into law a measure that makes it easier for Florida to relocate undocumented aliens to other states.
Filed by State Sen. Blaise Ingoglia (R-Spring Hill), SB6 B, the Unauthorized Alien Transport Program, allocates $10 million to create the program within the Florida Division of Emergency Management to contract for services to implement the program.
The measure also allows the Division to adopt rules pertaining to the program’s implementation.
SB 6 B became effective on Feb. 15 upon DeSantis’ signature.
Also, on Feb. 15, DeSantis signed into law SB 4 B, which allows the office of Attorney Ashley Moody to investigate and prosecute election crimes related to voting, petitioning, and voter registration that affect multiple judicial circuits, and SB 2-B. Emergency Response appropriates $7 million in hurricane relief to authorize the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to provide interest-free bridge loans to eligible local governments.
That measure also became effective on DeSantis’ signature.
