Hundreds of items are up for offer as a part of the Rotary Club of Brooksville’s 45th Annual Radio Auction, happening now through March 25. Those interested are encouraged to bid high, bid often, and check the Rotary Club of Brooksville’s facebook page frequently for new items, both necessary and luxury.
“We’re adding more items every day,” said Karen Nicolai, auction coordinator for the Rotary Club of Brooksville. “Everything from hearing aids to trips to event tickets have been offered through the Rotary auction.”
This is all for a good cause too! “This is a major fund-raiser that helps us give back to the community,” said Nicolai. “This year, we’ll be giving proceeds toward the building of the Splash Park at Anderson Snow Park. This is a free admission, handicapped accessible park for kids.”
In past years, fund-raising proceeds went to the Dawn Center for abused families and to fund the purchase of dictionaries for Hernando County third-graders. “We support not for profits that help child advocacy,” said Nicolai.
The prizes for this years event include a four day, three night trip at a Panama Beach condo, a three day and three night stay at a Georgia cabin, a dog gift basket, a 60-minute massage and facial, a South African photo safari, deluxe kitchen cabinets and cabinet design service, a complete house painting, wine tastings, golf games, massages, spa days, personal training sessions, and much more.
“The people, organizations and businesses of this community have been so generous, offering so many services and goods,” said Nicolai. The 45th annual auction has been extended over a period of 45 days. “This gives people plenty of time to review the items online,” said Nicolai.
People are invited to bid online until March 25, when the final day of the auction will be closed out and broadcast on WWJB.”People enjoy bidding competitively online, it’s a safe way to auction and a lot of fun,” said Nicolai.
More bidders and items are needed for The Rotary Club of Brooksville’s 45th Annual Radio Auction. Aside from bidding on auction items, supporters are encouraged to give a cash donation, or simply share this auction on social media using the hashtag, #charityauction.
