A Brooksville man is facing child pornography charges after he was arrested by detectives from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
HCSO Public Relations Manager Denise Moloney said that around 2 p.m. on April 18, detectives responded to a report that a man residing on Cheraton Road in Brooksville was in possession of child pornography. The images were discovered when the caller, who was an acquaintance of the suspect identified as 59-year-old Allan Linn Jonas, borrowed his phone to make a call.
When responding detectives asked Jonas if he ever views pornography, he responded that he did.
“’All kinds,” Moloney said.
When they asked him to look through images on his phone, Jonas allegedly told detectives that he could not see them and declined to put on a pair of glasses that were hanging from the collar of his shirt.
When they asked him about specific images, Jonas said that he suffered from memory loss and had no idea what they were talking about.
Finally, detectives arrested Jonas and charged him with two counts of child pornography.
More charges may follow as the investigation into the case continues, Moloney said.
