HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville awarded a $1,000 grant to Glen Lakes Veterans and Friends (GLVF) for its SAVES golf program. The aim of this program is to help veterans with PTSD to get out of their homes and bond with each other. “We hope the program SAVES lives and reduces the suicide rate among veterans, especially those with PTSD,” said Dicky Keane, one of the founders of the program. With these funds, GLVF will be able to enroll more veterans in this six-week clinic with a PGA instructor. The program teaches non-golfers how to play the game and hones the skills of those who already know how to play. Anyone interested in participating in this clinic or who wishes to contribute to this program can go to www.glenlakesvets.org.
