On May 15th just after 8 p.m., Deputies T. Jones and J. Wilson were conducting proactive patrols around Kass Circle and Spring Hill Drive, when they saw William Glover driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.
The officers were familiar with Glover from his previous brushes with the law and knew he did not have a driver’s license. So officers performed a traffic stop in the area of Spring Hill Drive and Pinehurst Drive.
After the deputies pulled over the Hyundai, the driver was officially identified as William Glover and the passenger/owner of the vehicle identified as Ashley Roller. Upon confirming Glover’s identity, deputies arrested him.
During Glover’s removal from the vehicle, deputies detected the smell of burnt marijuana coming from the car. Roller told officers she had a medical marijuana card, but when asked to show proof she had one she was unable to produce it. Roller was then removed from the vehicle so a probable cause search could be conducted.
While Deputy Wilson searched the car, Deputy Jones spoke with Roller. During the conversation, Roller admitted to being the owner of the vehicle and allowing Glover to drive her car knowing he was not a licensed driver because she had consumed an alcoholic beverage. However, it was noted by deputies that they did not smell any alcohol on either Glover or Roller.
Glover was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, and is being held on a $4,000 bond. Roller was arrested for possession of controlled substance, permitting unauthorized operator to drive motor vehicle, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
