Letter to the Editor: How did we go from education to indoctrination?

I hope to reach out to parents who are concerned about the ongoing debacle with the Hernando County School Board. Parents have rights and should ask themselves these questions:

How did we go from Education to Indoctrination? Why is Hernando County School Board Superintendent, John Stratton, Vice Chairperson Gus Guadagnino, Linda Prescott and Susan Duval in compliance with this indoctrination?

Why is the School Board, the teacher’s union and some teachers believe that they have the right to ignore parental rights and ignore Governor Ron DeSantis’s House Bill 1557 of the State of Florida?

Why should parents and children have to concern themselves with sexualization instead of education? What is their end game and agenda? Why target our children robbing them of their innocence?

The School Board has blatantly aligned their position in allowing indoctrination by silencing concerned voices, i.e.. trespassing those who speak up and out for the concern of corrupting innocent children of their youth but allowing liberal voices to persist in woke ideologies.

I believe there are many voices who are just as frustrated and disgusted by the explicit pornographic books, and the viewing of unauthorized videos, the implementation of woke ideologies and rainbow flags. It is the law that the American Flag must fly in each and every classroom!

Currently there is a petition for Governor Ron DeSantis to remove the Superintendent, John Stratton, Chair Gus Guadagnino, Vice Chair Susan Duval and Linda Prescott from the School Board. They have concealed a potential threat by allowing a teacher who had bad thoughts of harming her students and herself to continue teaching without informing the parents. The two newly elected School Board members, Shannon Rodriquez and Marc Johnson were purposely left out of the loop. There are other incidents, one of a teacher who took it upon herself to show a movie without school and parental approval. She then went on national TV playing the victim, also according to her, “ when you drop your children at school, parents lose their rights”!

Hernando County voted for Shannon Rodriquez and Marc Johnson to be the voice of reason as they based their campaigns on the morals and values of the majority of their constituents. At this time Mrs. Rodriquez is being harassed, threatened and her children bullied and the school board is nowhere in support. WHY???

It is imperative that all concerned attend the next School Board meeting on May 30th at 6:00 pm, at Hernando High School Auditorium 111 Ernie Chatman Run Brooksville, Fl.
