With the end of another school year across the country, the Sun wants to take a moment to recognize the accomplishment of high school graduates across Hernando County. A truly special occasion for all involved, the seniors and their families deserve praise for managing such a cardinal feat. However, with kudos comes some counsel for the new graduates.
Oftentimes, advice in situations like these can come across as vague or unhelpful. “The world is your oyster,” and other such phrases usually fall flat. While the sentiment is true that your options are nearly limitless, something more specific is likely to be more helpful.
Whether you are preparing to take the next step by attending a university, you have a job lined up or are still unsure what your next step will be, making connections with others can be crucial in finding a career. Fostering relationships with co-workers, professors, and bosses can lead to internships or other opportunities when they see that you are intentional about what you are doing. With this in mind, it is still important to make sure you enjoy this milestone and the new chapter that comes with it. Congratulations graduates!
