Wider Horizons School
GPA: 4.46
College: University of Florida
Planned Major: Journalism
Extracurricular Pursuits: I love photography. I love taking pictures on the sidelines of games right in the middle of all the action. You never know when one of the players will come barreling at you or a ball will bounce your way or when you will capture a perfect shot. I especially love the thrill of capturing a perfect shot. Photographing sports has made me realize what I want to do when I grow up and inspired me to chase after my dreams.
Most looking forward to: I am most looking forward to making many new friends and learning lots of new things.
Who helped along the way: My parents have helped me the most along the very rocky journey of my education. They have given up so much to ensure I have received the best education possible. I will forever be grateful for their sacrifice, unwavering support, and love. Without it I would not be graduating high school with my Associates Degree or attending the University of Florida this summer.
Most Thankful for: I am most thankful for my parents and my siblings. They are my rock. I am also thankful for my grandparents who have always been there when I needed them.
GPA: 91/3.7 (Unweighted)

Most looking forward to:
I am fairly excited to finally start a new life in college. It’s going to be my first time getting a taste of independence and my future life.
Who helped along the way:
I wouldn’t have been able to make it where I am now without the help of my family, friends, and fellow classmates. There will always be a special place in my heart open for them, especially for my mother and father.

A word from Mrs. Debbie Gordon:
My name is Debbie Gordon, and I have had the privilege of being Sam’s Principal, teacher, and Pastor’s wife. Sam has been a diligent student and has been a blessing in many aspects of the school and church ministry. She has helped in classes as a teacher’s aide, worked in the audio/video department for school productions and for weekly church services and Bible studies, as well as singing in the choir and in small ensembles. In addition to having perfect attendance for all four years of High School, Sam also really loved learning all she could in her chosen field of math! Sam completed 6 full credits of College Preparatory math courses during her four years of High School. She will be missed at Faith Christian Academy.
