The Hernando Historical Museum Assoc. Inc is launching a new exhibit series. The focus of the event will be on Hernando County people or families who have called this area home for generations. It will be an annual event, with the exhibit being hung for approximately one month.
The inaugural exhibit at the May-Stringer will feature photographs and stories of the Ederington family of Chinsegut Hill and the Dolan House. Mayor Blake Bell will introduce the exhibit on opening night, Friday, August 4th, at 7 pm. Mr. Bell has done extensive family research and tells a fascinating story of early settlers to this area. The evening will include an impressive dessert table and a small silent auction. A tour of the May-Stringer Museum will also be available. Free admission and open to the public. Donations, of course, will gladly be accepted in order to restore the plaster walls and ceiling in the dining room of the Museum. This special exhibit will run through Labor Day.
