The groundbreaking for the Dr. Dennis Wilfong Center for Success is slated to take place at 9 a.m. on Aug. 11 at the site of the Center in Brooksville. Once its construction is completed, the Center is intended to boost the local workforce by offering vocational and technical training options.
Hernando County Administrator Jeffrey Rogers said that the development of the Center is key to workforce development in the County.
“The significance of this project is to allow more adults in our community gain the knowledge and skill sets to access lucrative jobs in high-demand occupations,” he said.
The Center for Success is named for the late Dr. Dennis Wilfong, founder of Innovative Technology, Inc., a manufacturing firm headquartered in Hernando County. The Center complex is developed as a joint project of the Hernando County Government, the Hernando County School Board, and Pasco-Hernando State College.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the site of the Center. Parking and access will be located on Helicopter Drive, adjacent to the airport east of American Avionics.
The public is invited to attend the event.
