Notes from the Museums: Ederington/Snow Exhibit Continues

On Friday evening, August 4, 2023, Mayor Blake Bell presented an interesting program describing his family’s pioneer history as part of the Museum’s These Roots Run Deep series. As early settlers in the now Chinsegut Hill and Lake Lindsey areas, the Ederingtons and the Snows established large families, whose many descendants remain in Hernando County today. As guests gathered under white tents on the lawn of the May-Stringer and listened to Mr. Bell’s presentation, they enjoyed refreshments arranged by volunteers and Barbara Sprague from the Community Food Bank and Cynthia Lopell from CL22 Productions. Tours of the Museum followed, with Mr. Bell on hand to answer questions about the unique and engaging photographs of his family in the exhibit.
The special exhibit of photographs of the Ederingtons and Snows will remain at the May-Stringer through Labor Day and can be viewed as part of the regular Museum tours.
