Notes from the Museums: Russell Street Closure

When the 1885 Depot and the Countryman One Room Schoolhouse reopen after Labor Day, Russell Street may still be closed to through traffic. The street is one of the first in the City of Brooksville to be returned to the brick pavement of yesteryear. In the meantime, Russell Street is chewed up, as is South Main Street where the bike path is being built to connect with the Good Neighbor Trail behind the Museums and Russell Street Park.

However, the best access to the Museums is from South Brooksville Avenue where parking is available at the Depot and on the south side of the bike trail. It may be awhile before road work is complete, but the Museums will be open at the posted times. So, pardon our dusty exteriors until another historic feature of the City of Brooksville is restored.
