A Spring Hill man is dead after a medical emergency caused him to lose control of his car and collide with a tree.
Florida Highway Patrol Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Sgt. Steve Gaskins said that shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, a 73-year-old Spring Hill man was pulling out of a private driveway onto Golddust Road north of Cobra Street when he experienced a medical emergency and lost control of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) he was driving.
The vehicle subsequently entered the east shoulder of the roadway and collided with a tree.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
His 77-year-old female passenger was unhurt in the incident.
