Hernando County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Elizabeth Narverud has been named to the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) Federal Policy Committee as a policy leader.
According to FAC President Bill Truex, the FAC helps counties effectively serve and represent Floridians by preserving county home rule through advocacy, education, and collaboration. The organization’s Policy Committees are responsible for proposing, debating, and adopting policy positions that focus on improving and preserving Florida’s counties.
Narverud will hold a committee position for one year, during which time she will work with FAC’s executive committee to develop and recommend a statewide legislation platform for issues within her committee’s jurisdiction.
Narverud was unavailable for comment on the appointment. Narverud was elected to the BOCC on Nov. 17, 2020. Her term ends in November 2024.
