Hernando County has named Jan Houser as its new director of human resources. In her new post, Houser will lead the department in a number of human resource-related activities, including recruitment, job candidate selection and testing, compensation classification and analysis, and labor relations.
Before joining the Hernando County Human Resource Department on Sept. 5, Houser was the director of Human Resources of the Children’s Board in Hillsborough County.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Georgia, holds certifications from the Society of Human Resource Management, and is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Hillsborough.
Houser and her husband relocated to Florida from Concord, NH, in 2011.
