A Brooksville man is facing more than 90 counts of child pornography possession after deputies from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) stopped him for driving on a suspended license.
Back in August, HCSO detectives were told that a man, later identified as 29-year-old Ryan Hohman, was possibly in possession of child pornography at his residence in Brooksville.
After an investigation, they obtained a warrant to search Hohman’s residence, but on Dec. 5, they saw him driving a vehicle when they knew that his driver’s license had been suspended.
During a subsequent traffic stop, detectives took Hohman into custody and transported him to the HCSO for an interview, where he admitted to owning a social media account and downloading material containing images of child sexual assault.
As a result, investigators found that Hohman’s social media account contained more than 200 images of child sexual assault-related material.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with 93 counts of possession of child pornography and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Hohman is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center in lieu of a $931,000 bond.
