A Brooksville man is facing multiple charges of possessing pornographic material involving children after detectives arrested him at his home earlier this month. The man, identified as 47-year-old Michael David Foster, previously worked as a corrections officer for the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and is currently employed as an overnight mechanic at Disney World in Orlando.
According to Hernando County Public Relations Manager Denise Moloney, on Dec. 16, detectives received information that someone at 315 Zoller Street in Brooksville was possibly in possession of child pornography.
During the resulting investigation, detectives seized a flash drive and a few digital camera memory (SD) cards located in a bag belonging to Foster. The flash drive contained 32 pornographic images involving children.
Acting on a search warrant, detectives searched Foster’s Zoller Street residence on Dec. 20, where they found Foster, who admitted to downloading and viewing the images of child pornography.
During the search, they also seized several additional digital storage devices from the residence. Investigators arrested Foster and charged him with 32 counts of possession of child pornography. Additional charges are possible, pending digital forensic analysis of all the devices seized from Foster’s home, Moloney said.
