From swoon-worthy romance to can’t-miss nonfiction, the 2024 book lineup offers something for every reader.
Historical Fiction
From master storyteller Kristin Hannah, the bestselling author of “The Nightingale” and “The Great Alone,” comes the story of one of the most turbulent and transformative times in America: the 1960s. Hannah examines how the conflict impacted the lives of young American women who volunteered to serve in Vietnam in “The Women.” This novel centers on Frances “Frankie” McGrath, a 20-year-old nursing student who enlists in the Army Nursing Corps in 1965, right before her older brother Finley is killed overseas. Hannah’s latest is both a coming-of-age story and an examination of a turbulent and divisive era. Pub Date: February 6, 2024
Award-winning poet Phillip B. Williams is set to release his first novel, “Ours,” on February 20. An epic novel set in mid-nineteenth-century America about the spiritual costs of freedom that demand fierce protection. Set over the course of four decades and steeped in a rich tradition of American literature informed by Black surrealism, mythology, and spirituality, “Ours” is a stunning exploration of the possibilities and limitations of love and freedom. Pub Date: February 20, 2024
Mysteries and Thrillers
Alex Michaelides, the bestselling author of The Silent Patient and The “Maidens,” released his third novel, “The Fury” on January 16. If Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde wrote an island thriller with obsessive characters, then you’d have “The Fury” written like a Shakespearean drama. “The Fury” is a masterfully paced thriller about a reclusive ex-movie star and her famous friends whose spontaneous trip to a private Greek island is upended by a murder. Pub Date: January 16, 2024

“The Swans of Harlem” by Karen Valby is the forgotten story of a pioneering group of five Black ballerinas and their fifty-year sisterhood, a legacy erased from history — until now. “The Swans of Harlem” performed for the Queen of England, Mick Jagger and Stevie Wonder, on the same bill as Josephine Baker, at the White House and beyond. But decades later, there was almost no record of their groundbreaking history to be found. Out of a sisterhood that had grown even deeper through the years, the Swans joined forces again—to share their story with the world. Pub Date: April 30, 2024
