A Tribute on the Greens
Recently, a heartfelt event unfolded at the Silverthorn Golf Course. The Friday golf group, a close-knit circle of friends, came together to pay homage to a beloved figure in their lives—Harry H. Henwood. Harry, a treasured companion and an avid golfer, left an incredible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Almost a year after his passing, his presence is profoundly missed, both on and off the golf course.
In remembrance, the group gathered at the eighth hole, where a bench adorned with a plaque in Harry’s honor now stands. This spot, overlooking the greens, is a testament to his passion for the game.
Harry’s love for the Pittsburgh Steelers was well-known among his friends, and in a light-hearted nod to his favorite team, the group surrounded the bench in the team’s flag, adding a touch of his spirit to the occasion. The atmosphere was a blend of joy and nostalgia.
At this gathering, friends and Harry’s family—wife Ronelle and brother Bill—shared anecdotes and memories, painting a vivid picture of a man whose laughter and presence seemed to linger in the air.
Harry was remembered as a man who brought joy and humor wherever he went. His enthusiasm for golf was infectious, and he relished the opportunity to play with anyone. He was always eager to make new friends and enjoy the game.
This bench was dedicated in celebration of Harry’s life and the impact he had on those around him.
To Harry—your spirit and laughter will forever echo on these greens. With love and fond memories, the Friday golf group.
