Those in search of some free family fun this weekend can take Southbound 75 to Brooksville Main Street! To be more clear, the awesome country rock band Southbound 75 is coming to Brooksville on Friday, April 12, when they perform as the headlining act at Brooksville Main Street’s Friday Night Live from 6:30-9:30 p.m., under the bandshell at Hernando Park, 205 E. Fort Dade Ave., historic downtown Brooksville. This vivid, vibrant event, a longstanding tradition in Hernando County, will be an occasion of live music, an artisan market, local eats courtesy of food trucks on-site, and a full bar. In addition, Main Street shops and restaurants will be open for business.

“I’m thrilled that we’re bringing Friday Night Live back to Brooksville Main Street,” said BMS Executive Director Dawn Triconi. “I’m excited to bring entertainment back to downtown.”

Triconi feels that events like Friday Night Live—celebrated the second Friday of each month, although a summer break in the program is coming up—perfectly fulfill and personify the mission of Brooksville Main Street, a nonprofit dedicated to making Brooksville the best version of itself. “Thanks to my amazing board and the work of dedicated volunteers, we’re giving the community something free and fun to do downtown,” said Triconi.

Seen on The Country Network, Today in Nashville, & CMT.com, Southbound 75 is known for songs and recordings that include That Summer, Tales from the Black Swamp, Spilled Champagne, and Missing Carolina. They have performed at prestigious venues such as The Ryman Concert Series, Wildhorse Saloon, NBC’s “Today in Nashville,” and the renowned “Whiskey Jam,” and at special events such as WQYK’S Guitar Pull, The New Country 103.1 Rib Round-Up, The Field Of Dreams Country Festival, and the upcoming High Seas Rally Cruise.

“Southbound 75 is an amazing band and very much in line with the type of acts that we want to book for Friday Night Live,” said Triconi. “Fun, family-friendly, and playing great music. Our community has so much amazing talent, and Friday Night Live is the perfect place to present it.”

Triconi says that the Friday Night Live lineup is custom-designed to provide top-quality, family-friendly entertainment. “We started this season off with The Black Thorne Brigade, which plays Irish/rock,” she explained. “We want to feature rock, pop, country, blues, and many genres of music.”

Triconi stated that these tunes form the divine backdrop for the perfect evening out. “Regardless of the occasion, I want Friday Night Live to be a place where everyone—be they families or friends in search of a Girl’s Night Out or Guy’s Night Out destination—can find something to like. Friday Night Live is a place to go.”

While people may come for the music, they can stay for the artisan market and food truck display that will feature deluxe, locally produced items from area boutiques, bed and bath stores, bakeries and restaurants, arts and crafts, greenery, and more. They can munch on burgers and pizzas, grilled sandwiches, and various treats for sale.

“Friday Night Live can be a place where people can look forward to going, anticipating through the week,” she continued. “A place to make memories. We’re always getting feedback from people who say they love the event and who thank us for bringing music to downtown.”
