Hernando County Commissioner John Allocco, Jr. has been named to the Pasco-Hernando State College District Board of Trustees. Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the appointment on April 12.
A resident of Weeki Wachee, Allocco is a Realtor® for Home-Land Real Estate and a member of the National and Florida Associations of Realtors®. He is also a member of the CareerSource Pasco-Hernando Executive Board and the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce.
In response, Allocco said that he is honored by the appointment and that adding certificate and trade components to Pasco-Hernando State College and partnering with other local entities, including Brooksville Tampa Bay Regional Airport, are key to education and future workforce development.
“The collaboration with Hernando County government, Hernando County School District, and Pasco-Hernando State College can be a game changer for all Hernando County residents in the field of technology, aviation, and trade skills,” Allocco said. “Along with new PHSC President (Jesse) Pisors and the board of trustees, I look forward to making this a reality.”
Also named to the school’s board of trustees were Ryan Brady and Gino Collura, PhD. A Dade City resident, Brady is a Product Sales Consultant for Motorola Solutions, and serves as a member of the Academy at the Farm Board of Directors. He previously served as an assistant principal for the Pasco County School District.
Also a resident of Dade City, Collura is the Founder of Big Guava Management and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Streaming Advocate. He serves on the advisory board for the University of South Florida College of Education, the Saint Leo University College of Arts and Sciences, and Heroes Adapt, Inc.
All three appointments are pending Florida State Senate confirmation.
