For the past four years, a single event has brought citizens into the heart of downtown Brooksville to honor their heroes, and this year, the celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Experience the Fourth Annual Salute to First Responders and Military Heroes event, a unique celebration in Historic Downtown Brooksville happening on April 27th & 28th. This one-of-a-kind event is a tribute to those who dedicate their lives to helping others, featuring live music, diverse vendors, delicious food trucks, and a charity auction.
This event is presented by Country Depot, Fresh Pik’d Produce Market & Cafe, SaucyQueen, and Farmer and the Dell Rustic Event Rentals. It will run on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at South Brooksville Avenue, Historic Downtown Brooksville.
The Fourth Annual Salute to First Responders and Military Heroes event is a community-driven initiative to honor and celebrate the bravery and dedication of our local first responders and military personnel. The event aims to unify citizens in a show of gratitude for those who put their lives on the line to save and enhance the lives of others.
“I come from a family that has served,” shared event organizer John Loetscher, owner of Country Depot. “I myself have been helped by first responders, who were there for me when I was in a car accident. This event is more than just a show of thanks. It’s our chance to share our deepest gratitude with the brave men and women who selflessly serve and protect our communities and our nation.”
But this event is more than just a celebration. It’s an opportunity for us to make a difference. Beyond our heartfelt thanks, this event will include a charity auction. Every bid, every purchase, will benefit Responders First, a nonprofit organization providing extensive services to first responders and the military, whether active duty or retired veterans, struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder.
“We’re proud to support Responders First,” said Loetscher. “They do so much to help.”
Live entertainment is also on the agenda, courtesy of headline performers The Bearded Brothers Band, a southern rock band, and the ever-popular Cowboy Circus attraction with Danny Grant. The support of first responders is essential to the Bearded Brothers, as Thomas G, the band’s lead singer, is a retired career FDNY firefighter and was on duty for the tragic occurrence of 9/11.
The Bearded Brothers prepared a statement specifically for the Hernando Sun that stated, “We love our first responders and the military; we still have a veterans tag on our trailer; all the respect and thanks to them. If it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t have the freedom to do what we do.” The Bearded Brothers will perform on April 27 from 6–9 p.m.
“Our headliners, The Bearded Brothers, are so popular,” said Loetscher. “We’ll have live music throughout our event, plus a popular circus attraction.”
Loetscher encourages all to assemble for a fun and hearty salute to first responders and military heroes. “Let’s come together as a community to honor and appreciate those who sacrifice so much for our safety and well-being,” he said.
