Three Hernando High School seniors were honored at last week’s school board meeting as 2024 New World Scholars. Camden Coleman, Coreena Bailey and Emily Goethe, through their participation in the Teaching Academy program at HHS, each provided 75 hours of tutoring to students in K-3rd grade at Brooksville Elementary. The tutoring is part of the RAISE High School Tutoring Program, a reading initiative of the Florida Department of Education and the Just Read, Florida office. Along with this year’s tutoring hours, they each also earned the 2023 New World Scholar designation last year, during the first year of the initiative at HHS. That means they each donated 150 hours of reading tutoring! “These High school tutors are dedicated to instilling a love of reading and improving literacy skills for students with reading difficulties,” said Tiffany Howard, Director of Elementary Programs. We couldn’t agree more, and couldn’t be more proud of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!
