Hernando Audubon Environmental Scholarship Winner

At the Hernando Audubon meeting on April 25, Scholarship Chair Tom St. Clair presented Jasmine Tavares with the $1,000 2024 Stephen B. Fickett, Jr., Environmental Scholarship. Jasmine is the valedictorian of her class at Weeki Wachee High School and has been an active member and past President of the school’s Environmental Club. For the past two years she has served as the youth representative on Sierra Club Adventure Coast Group’s Executive Committee, often providing public comment on various environmental issues to County and State agencies. Jasmine plans to attend Florida State University in the fall, majoring in environmental policy/political science.
