Dads will want to bring their families to the Weeki Wachee Area Club’s Community Social Event, 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 28. This special social is sponsored by Weeki Wachee Area WATCH members.
“This is an event for all,” said Johnson. “It’s the Food Truck Friday with Singer/Guitar Player Chris Korbus.”
Chris Korbus is a Brooksville native and Hernando High graduate. He has played guitar since age 12 and live shows since age 17. One half of the duo Broad Street Barons, with drummer Joe Solomon, Korbus performs at many local venues and covers songs acoustically. His repertoire includes 60s classics to modern songs, and he writes and performs his own music.
“We are hoping to do this once a month, as a Community Social by bringing in a local artist for a variety of music enjoyment,” said Johnson. “Family fun and casual atmosphere.”
Plus, plenty of dads–and moms–are sure to appreciate and attend this year’s Hernando County Vet Fest.
“Vendors are needed for this year’s upcoming Hernando County Vet Fest and to sign up early,” said Johnson.
This year’s Vet Fest will be celebrated at a new location, Veterans Park, 12254 Spring Hill Road, on Nov. 2. This grand event will feature live music courtesy of Symmetry 4.0 and TC and Sass, a prize table, food trucks, the products and masterworks of 100 vendors, prizes, Kids Zone, and more. Kicking off this festivity is a Nov. 1 VIP dinner and entertainment, with cocktails at 5 p.m. and dinner following at 6 p.m.
To become a Vet Fest vendor, call MaryAnn at 863-381-4760 or April at 727-457-3242.
“Come show your appreciation and gratitude,” said Johnson, “honoring all who served.”
