Hernando County Under Tropical Storm Warning

As of 9 am on Aug. 3, Hernando County Emergency Operations Center advised that Hernando County is under a Tropical Storm Warning and Storm Surge Watch. There was a slight westward shift of the track overnight. Current storm surge projections for our area are 2 – 4 feet. The main threat is heavy rainfall 5-10 inches with isolated areas that could get up to 15 inches.

The county is anticipating localized flooding, potential flash flooding. There may by tropical storm force winds around noon tomorrow.

Sandbag locations are open today until 7 p.m. Sandbag locations will not be open tomorrow.

There are no evacuation orders in Hernando County currently.

City of Brooksville
The self-serve site is located at 600 S. Brooksville Ave. and is open 24-hours a day.
There is a limited supply of sandbags and residents are asked to only take what they need and leave the shovels for the next resident to use. To be considered a resident, individuals must reside within the City limits of Brooksville.
