The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners adopted an incentives agreement with Global Jetcare, Inc., approving an economic development investment incentive grant to facilitate the company’s expansion at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport. This expansion includes the construction of a second hangar and new offices at 15421 Technology Drive, enabling the company to accommodate six additional planes. The project is expected to create 10-20 new jobs, adding to the current 37 full-time positions at the airport. These new jobs will offer an average annual wage of $75,000 and $15,000 in annual benefits, including health insurance, life insurance, 401k and paid time off.
The project will unfold over three years and Global Jetcare’s total capital investment is $5.16 million: $5.12 million in the first year and $20,000 in each of the following two years.
The incentive agreement states that the grant from the county will be calculated as a percentage of ad valorem taxes paid by the Company on both real property and tangible personal property for the expansion in any given year of the agreement. The County may grant the award each year for up to 10 years.
The company must provide annual compliance reports, including unemployment reports and certification statements, to the County’s Director of Economic Development. The county retains the right to audit the company’s records to verify compliance. The agreement remains in effect for ten years or until all incentives are disbursed, ensuring continued economic growth and job creation in the region.
Christina Gray, vice president at Global Jetcare, Inc., mentioned that the incentive allows them to purchase new aircraft and complete preparations before opening the new facility.
Commissioner Campbell expressed gratitude for the company’s continued investment in Hernando County and praised Global Jetcare as an impressive family business. He highlighted Christina Gray’s inspiring story and the company’s contribution to 37 existing jobs, including high-end positions such as pilots, nurses and other professionals.
County Administrator Jeff Rogers thanked Global Jetcare for expanding in Hernando County, calling the company a valuable asset to the community. He praised their services, which include life-saving measures and patient transport. Rogers also acknowledged the board’s efforts in continually improving the airport, emphasizing that these investments attract and retain businesses in the area.
