The federal government is sending a little more than $5.7 million to Florida as part of the latest round of funding for electric-vehicle charging infrastructure. The Biden administration announced Tuesday that Miami-Dade County will receive $4.8 million and that the Seminole Tribe of Florida will get $933,600. The money is part of $521 million in grants going to 29 states, the District of Columbia and eight tribes. Miami-Dade County is expected to use its portion of the money for 390 charging ports at 73 community facilities, such as libraries, parks, transit hubs and college campuses. The grant for the Seminole Tribe is slated to go to installation of EV charging infrastructure at seven locations.
