Potential Flooding of the Withlacoochee River at US 301 Trilby and Croom
(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County is currently under a Flood Watch and Hurricane Warning. Emergency Management is monitoring the Withlacoochee River at US 301 Trilby and Croom ahead of Hurricane Milton. Trilby gauge is currently observed at 9.2 feet and is anticipated to reach up to 16 feet in the Moderate Stage after the storm event. The Croom gauge is currently observed at 7.3 feet and is anticipated to reach up to 10.9 feet for Moderate Stage after the storm event.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the river levels for this weekend by visiting www.Weather.gov/serfc/ to track flooding at the Trilby and Croom gauges.
Residents should be aware of the possibility that water wells and septic systems could become contaminated. Water testing should occur once water recedes. Infrastructure damages and power outages should also be expected.
