A Spring Hill woman was arrested on Sunday, December 29, 2024, after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend’s dog inside their home.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at approximately 10:42 a.m. reporting that Megab Lynn Mileskiewicz, age 23, was repeatedly stabbing the two-year-old pit bull.
Deputies responded to the residence at 180 Rusk Circle, where witnesses said Mileskiewicz had fled out the back door.
Deputies found Mileskiewicz hiding face-down behind a tool shed in the backyard, surrounded by shrubbery. When she refused to comply with verbal commands to leave her hiding spot, deputies physically removed her and took her into custody.
The dog sustained two lacerations, each two to three inches long, near its backside. Although the injuries were actively bleeding, they were not life-threatening.
According to a witness, Mileskiewicz became angry at the dog without warning, retrieved a pocketknife, and began stabbing it. The witness called 911 upon seeing the attack.
Post-Miranda, Mileskiewicz told deputies the dog was “bothering” her and admitted she had become upset, saying “I made a mistake.”
Mileskiewicz was arrested on charges of animal cruelty and resisting an officer without violence. She was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, where her bond was set at $3,500.
