A Weeki Wachee man has been charged in connection with the overdose death of his neighbor, authorities announced.
On March 31, 2024, at approximately 6 a.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies and Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a residence on Bob Cat Drive for a possible overdose. Upon arrival, they found Robert Bolduc unresponsive on the front porch. Bolduc was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members informed detectives that Bolduc had a history of using illegal drugs, including methamphetamine and fentanyl. They also discovered text messages between Bolduc and his neighbor, Brian Palmer, 59, in which Bolduc requested drugs.
An investigation by the Chief Medical Examiner determined Bolduc died of combined drug toxicity after ingesting methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl.
On May 30, detectives interviewed Palmer, who initially denied providing Bolduc with cocaine. Palmer later admitted to supplying the narcotics Bolduc consumed before his death.
On December 23, a grand jury indicted Palmer on a charge of Death Caused by Unlawful Distribution of Cocaine. Later that day, detectives arrested Palmer at his residence without incident.
During the arrest, detectives found a white powdery substance and drug paraphernalia in Palmer’s bedroom. Post-Miranda, Palmer admitted the substance was cocaine.
A subsequent search warrant at Palmer’s home uncovered 16.2 grams of cocaine, 10.7 grams of methamphetamine, 20.5 grams of marijuana, 18 Oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia, five firearms and over 1,800 rounds of ammunition.
Palmer is being held without bond at the Hernando County Detention Center.
